How to Search

There are one-click alphabetical name indexes as well as numerous combinations of "advanced" fields to search by.  Below are some examples...

Alphabetical Index Searching

Let's say you're looking for AARP, aka American Association of Retired Persons...  In PayorID.com, you can look up either version of the name..

Click on "A"...

Notice how you get a secondary listing of two-letter combinations (which are useful for filtering the list down to names that begin with, say "Am").  Below that is the list of all payors beginning with "A".

Click on "AARP" to retrieve the information for that payor...

or you could click on "Am" to search for "American Association..."

... and then click on "American Association of Retired Persons" to get the same information on the payor as if you had clicked "AARP"...

Advanced Search Scenarios:

To enable the advanced search functions, click the Advanced Search option

Scenario 1:

Suppose you wanted to find a Medicare payor in Indiana.  You could choose Medicare from the Benefit Types list, select Indiana from the State list, and click the Search button...

Scenario 2:

If you need to find information on Coresource payors in the 610 area code, you would just type 'Coresource' in the Payor criteria box and type '610' in the Phone criteria box and click 'Search'.

Scenario 3:

To find an HMO in New York, just select 'HMO' from the network Type drop down list box, and select 'New York' from the State drop down list box.  Click 'Search'.  Then you could narrow your search to HMOs in Albany, New York.  Instead of typing 'Albany' in the City criteria box, click the up sort button on the State column to bring the cities that start with the letter 'A' to the top.  Then click on a record with Albany as the city.  The search will return all the HMOs in Albany, New York.

Scenario 4:

You need to find out who the payor is for 'Sprint'.  You go to the Search Employers page and type 'sprint' in the Employer criteria box and click 'Search'.  The results for employers named 'Sprint' are returned.  Click on the employer name.  The payor results for that employer are returned.

Scenario 5:

Use a wildcard * search in a case where you only know part of the name, and are not sure where the part of the name falls in the title.  For example: If you are looking for a payor, and all you remember is that the word 'California' was part of the title.  Type "*california" in the payor criteria box and click search.  The search returns all payors with the word 'California' in their titles.
